2001 chevy s10 won't start? 2001 chevy s10 4.3 (262) 69k miles 2wd. Problems noted: key is hard to turn in tumbler.....have to wiggle it back and forth a couple times to be able to turn the key to on. gas gauge indicates low fuel while vehicle is running or not yet after running for about 2-3 minutes gauge corrects itself. vehicle has fuel. recently changed the spark plugs and wires on the vehicle....it ran like garbage...the plug wires were bad or damaged (one was taped together). So, I replaced all plugs and all wires....started vehicle and ran better than before....drove home (2-3 miles) parked it and two days later it doesn't start.....cranks but doesn't catch. A friend checked the coil and said no spark. Went ahead and replaced the coil and still no start. when attempting to start it it simply cranks until you release the key (turning it off) and then it sounds like it wants to catch but doesn't. only seem like it will want to start when you turn the key off....while trying to start it just cranks and cranks. only two things I can figure would be timing is off...trying to crank on the exhaust.....or the ignition.....any ideals???? car insurance.

When I fill up my van with gas, the pump won't keep going on its own.? For the last several times that I have filled up with gas, I have had to hold the pump on a really low level to get it filled up. It takes about 15 minutes to fill up the tank. If I try to go full blast, it shuts off like it does when the tank is full but it will do this on an empty tank. What is wrong??? car insurance.

Isuzu . How to Change the Transmission Fluid in a 2003 Cavalier

Unlike most other automatic transmissions, the transmission in the 2003 Chevy Cavalier does not have a dipstick. Instead, it uses a fill hole and a separate overflow plug to ensure the correct amount of fluid is installed. When servicing this transmission, you should make sure the vehicle is on level ground. An average home mechanic with basic hand tools should be able to complete this task in an hour.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Floor jack
Jack stands
Wheel chocks
1/4 inch-drive socket set
Drain pan
Small funnel
Allen wrench set
Filter and gasket set
Gasket adhesive

Step by Step :
1
Place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels, and lift the front of the Cavalier using a floor jack. Position jack stands under the front sub-frame and lower the vehicle onto the stands. This will prevent serious injury if the floor jack were to fail and unexpectedly lower the car onto you while you are under it.
2
Remove the 10mm bolts that attach the transmission pan (the flat steel pan located on the bottom of the transmission) to the transmission, using the 1/4-inch socket set. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into a drain pan. Lower the pan into the drain pan, and remove the transmission filter by pulling with a twisting motion. A fair amount of additional transmission fluid will drain when the filter is removed. Use a screwdriver to carefully pry the old filter seal out of the transmission.
3
Push the new transmission filter gasket into the transmission, then push the new filter into the transmission until it snaps into place. A few sharp blows with the heel of your hand will help a stubborn filter seat properly. Clean the gasket surface of the transmission and the pan. Remove all traces of gasket sealer and old gasket to ensure a proper seal. Using the gasket adhesive, attach the new gasket to the pan, and install the pan when the adhesive sets up. Hand tighten the 10mm bolts with the 1/4-inch drive socket wrench and socket from the set. Avoid over-tightening the bolts.
4
Remove the large red fill plug located on the top of the transmission and the overflow plug located on the backside (near the top) of the transmission. Add four quarts of Dextron III automatic transmission fluid. Start the engine, and add transmission fluid until it starts to run out the overflow hole. Reinstall the overflow plug, and turn the engine off. Reinstall the fill plug. The transmission is now full.
5
Lower the Cavalier by raising it with the floor jack and removing the jack stands. Then lower it to the ground. Remove the wheel chocks and check for leaks before test driving.
Tips & Warnings
Wear safety glasses and work gloves to prevent injuries.

Isuzu . How to Change the Manual Transmission Fluid for a Honda Civic

The manual transmission fluid change on all Honda Civics use the drain and fill process. The transmission fluid inside of the manual transmission on the Honda Civic protects all of the gears and bearings by lubricating them to prevent heat friction and breakages. Once the manual transmission fluid breaks down on the Honda Civic, it does not effectively protect the inside parts of the transmission. This can cause significant damage to the transmission.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
3/8 ratchet
Drain pan
17mm socket
Funnel
Long plastic tube
Honda manual transmission fluid

Step by Step :
1
Drive the car around to heat up the transmission fluid. Hot transmission fluid becomes thin and easier to drain.
2
Park the car on a even surface and turn the engine off.
3
Jack the car up on both sides, and place the jack stands behind each tire in the designated area for holding the jack stand. The Honda Civic has a bracket with grooves behind each front tire that the jack stands sit under. Let the car down on the jack stands, and make sure that the jack stands are stable under the car.
4
Locate the fill plug on the transmission. Remove the fill plug from the manual transmission by using the 17mm socket and ratchet. Turn the plug counterclockwise to loosen and remove the fill plug.
5
Put the drain pan under the drain plug. Remove the drain plug by putting the 3/8 head of the ratchet into the square hole and turning the plug counterclockwise to remove the plug. Set the plug to the side, and let all of the fluid drain out of the manual transmission. Then reinsert the drain plug and screw the plug back down tight.
6
Add the manual transmission fluid to the manual transmission from the top of the engine. Put long plastic tubing on the funnel. There is a opening to the left hand side of the car battery that goes straight down to the manual transmission fill hole. Push the tube down this opening until the end of the plastic tube has reached the opening of the transmission fill hole.
7
Go under the car and insert the plastic hose into the fill plug of the transmission. Then go back to the top of the engine.
8
Pour 2 quarts of the Honda manual transmission fluid into the fill hole. Once the transmission fluid starts coming out of the fill hole, go back under the car and remove the plastic tube. Reinsert the fill plug and screw the fill plug back down tight. The recommended torque specs for the drain plug and the fill plug on the Honda Civic manual transmission is 33 ft. lbs.
9
Remove the drain pan. Jack the car up and remove the jack stands. Crank the engine and go through all of the gears to allow the new manual transmission fluid to get into all of the gears and seals. Turn the engine off.
Tips & Warnings
The recommended manual transmission fluid change is 30,000 miles on most Honda Civics.

Always wear safety glasses when working around transmission fluid.

Make sure that the jack stands are evenly and securely holding the car before climbing under the car.

To check your automatic transmission fluid, do the following: 1. With the gearshift in Neutral or Park and the emergency brake on, let your engine run. When the engine is warm, pull out the dipstick. (Don't turn off the engine.) 2. Wipe the dipstick with a clean, lint-free rag; then reinsert it and pull it out again. 3. If the transmission fluid doesn't reach the "Full" line on the dipstick, use a funnel to pour just enough transmission fluid down the dipstick tube to reach the line. Don't overfill! 213 Car Insurance 1996 suzuki swift 314851

7Q Part I: Getting Started There are several types of transmission fluid. Each is made for a specific type of automatic transmission. Newer transmissions from the major auto-makers require different fluid than vehicles as little as two years old. Because so many different kinds of transmissions are around these days, check your owner's manual or dealership to find out which type of fluid your car requires, and enter that type on your Specifications Record. 4. Dip the tip of your index finger into the fluid on the dipstick and rub the fluid between your finger and the tip of your thumb. The transmission fluid on the dipstick should be pinkish and almost clear. If it looks or smells burnt or has particles in it, have a mechanic drain and change the fluid. If your car hesitates when your automatic transmission shifts gears, the first thing to check is the transmission fluid level — before you let any mechanic start talking about servicing or adjusting your transmission or selling you a new one. Many symptoms of a faulty transmission are the same as those for being low on transmission fluid. Obviously, adding transmission fluid is a lot cheaper than replacing the whole transmission system! See Chapter 17 for advice. Check the Brake Fluid On the driver's side of your vehicle, usually up near the firewall, is a big,

round thing called the vacuum brake booster. Just in front of that, sitting on and connected to the brake master cylinder, is the brake fluid reservoir, a plastic canister that contains (you guessed it) brake fluid. (Older vehicles don't have a plastic reservoir; instead, the master cylinder is a little metal box with a lid that you must remove to check the fluid level.) When you put your foot on the brake pedal, the fluid in the master cylinder (see Figure 3-12) moves down the brake lines to the front and rear brakes. If there's insufficient brake fluid, air is introduced into the brake lines and your car won't stop properly. Therefore, it's important to keep enough brake fluid in your brake fluid reservoir. (This situation is not as scary as it sounds;

most master cylinders have two chambers as a safety feature. This way, if one well of brake fluid suddenly goes dry because of a leak in the brake lines or something like that, the other chamber still has enough fluid in it to stop the car.) If your vehicle has anti-lock brakes (ABS), consult your owner's manual before checking your brake fluid. Some require you to pump the brake pedal approximately 25 to 30 times before opening and inspecting the fluid reservoir. .Chapter 3: Preventive Maintenance: A Monthly Under-the-Hood Check 7 1 Figure 3-12: The master cylinder on many popu

lar cars. To check your brake fluid, do the following: 1. Open the top of your brake fluid reservoir. If you have the kind with a little plastic reservoir on top, just unscrew the cap of the reservoir. If you have a metal master cylinder that contains the reservoir, use a screwdriver to pry the retaining clamp off the top (see Figure 3-13). Figure 3-13: Releasing the lid of a metal master cylinder with a screwdriver. Always clean the top of the cylinder or reservoir carefully before opening it. A small amount of dirt falling into the fluid can cause the internal seals of the master cylinder to fail. Your brakes will begin to lose effectiveness and ultimately fail completely. 2. Look to see where the fluid level lies between the low- and high-level indicating marks on the plastic reservoir, or inside the master cylinder, to make sure that the brake fluid level is within half an inch or so of the cap. Part I: Getting Started If the level isn't high enough, add the proper brake fluid for your vehicle. (You can find instructions for buying the proper brake fluid in Chapter 18.)
